Kulsoom Nawaz in the by-election of NA-120 is an expression of people’s trust and deep love with the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The result of by-election has again proved that the people are with the servers of the public and they are fed up with the politics of agitation. That is why the people have defeated those doing politics of falsehood, allegations and personal interest through the power of their votes,” he said in a statement issued on Monday.
He said that the people had again given the verdict that there was no room for negative politics of agitation in the country.
He said that he congratulated Begum Kulsoom Nawaz over her success in the by-election of NA-120 from the core of his heart and thanked the workers and office-bearers of PML-N as well as the voters who played their active role in this success and won the election by burning the midnight oil. “We are also thankful to Allah Almighty over the success,” he added.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that the PML-N had always selflessly served the people and due to it, the PML-N was the most popular party in the country. “The result of by-election has proved that the people want continuity of policies of the incumbent government,” he said, and added that the party would continue the journey of public service with renewed vigour and zeal.
Meanwhile, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkly called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest, including promotion of brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and enhancement of mutual cooperation in different sectors, came under discussion. The chief minister also spoke in Arabic language with the Saudi ambassador.
On the occasion, the chief minister said that Saudi Arabia was a brotherly country, which had always stood with Pakistan through thick and thin. “The people of Pakistan have deep-rooted spiritual affiliations with Saudi Arabia and the citizens of both the countries are conjoined in the relationship of unity and brotherhood.”
He said that Pakistan had historic, religious and friendly relations with Saudi Arabia and the role of Saudi government in social development and promotion of trade and industrial sectors of Pakistan was highly commendable. “Saudi Arabia has always supported Pakistan in the time of need. Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and the bilateral relations between the two countries are getting stronger with the passage of time. In the mean time, trade and economic relations have also been enhanced,” he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the government was committed to bringing improvement in every sector of life, as sufficient resources were being spent on public welfare. He expressed good wishes over the appointment of Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkly.
The Saudi ambassador commended different steps taken for improvement in the social sector as well as public welfare and said that the public friendly steps of the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif were laudable. He said that Saudi Arabia gives special importance to its relations with Pakistan and both the countries had sided with each other like brothers. He further said that friendly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were being further strengthened with the passage of time.
